Characteristics

Shrub, 1–2 m. tall; young branches tomentose, older branches with buff to grey flaking bark.. Leaves confined to apices of main stems and short branches off the main stems; blades oblanceolate to obovate, 2.2–6 cm. long, 1.2–3.2 cm. wide, apex obtuse, rounded or emarginate often with a short callous at tip, base cuneate, scabrid-pubescent above, softly pubescent to tomentose beneath; bacterial nodules, small, dot-shaped, few to many, scattered; petiole 2–4 mm. long, tomentose; stipule-limbs truncate or triangular, usually very shortly mucronulate, 1.5–5 mm. long, tomentose outside, with silky hairs within.. Corymbs terminal on short leafless branches 0.9–6.7 cm. long, few-flowered, compact, 1–1.8 cm. across; primary inflorescence-branches 0–5 mm. long; secondary branches present or suppressed; pedicels 2–5 mm. long, tomentose; bracts 3 mm. long, tomentose outside, with long silky hairs inside; bracteoles pale, inconspicuous.. Calyx tomentose; tube 1–1.5 mm. long; limb-tube 0.5–1 mm. long; lobes triangular 0.75–2 mm. long, 0.75–1 mm. wide at base..
