Shrub 1–2 m. tall; young branches covered with patent hairs; older branches with thin, fawn corky bark.. Leaf-blades usually drying blackish, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, 9–16.5 cm. long, 3–5.6 cm. wide, apex acuminate, base acute to cuneate, sparsely pubescent-strigose with midrib densely pubescent and lateral nerves often impressed above, pubescent with dense spreading hairs on nerves beneath; bacterial nodules absent; petioles 0.4–1.1 cm. long, densely pubescent; stipule-limbs fawnish, tending to be corky, triangular to subtruncate, 2.75–4 mm. long, pubescent outside; arista drying blackish, 9–14 mm. long, pubescent.. Corymbs borne on lateral branches 12–16 cm. long bearing usually 1–2 pairs of leaves, moderately lax, 4–4.5 cm. across; primary inflorescence-branches 0.6–1.4 cm. long, covered with patent hairs; secondary branches present; pedicels 2–3 mm. long, covered with patent hairs; bracts ± stipule-like; bracteoles inconspicuous..
