Characteristics

Small to medium-sized tree, up to 4 m high; young twigs glabrous. Leaves with petioles 5-15 mm long; lamina elliptic, subcoriaceous, sometimes shiny above, glabrous, lateral veins 4-6 pairs. Domatia covered by tuft of hairs. Bacterial nodules circular to elliptic, scattered over lamina. Inflorescences terminal and axillary on inflorescencesupporting branches; relatively few-flowered, lax corymbs. Flowers: corolla tube up to 6.8 mm long; lobes 8 mm long. Calyx glabrous, tube cup-shaped, 1.0-1.2 mm long; lobes with tooth-like apices. Flowering time Sept.-June. Fruit 5-9 mm in diam., persistent calyx forming a ridge.
