Leaf-blades narrowly elliptic to obovate, 7.7–22 cm. long, 2.7–9.8 cm. wide, apex acuminate to long acuminate, base cuneate, glabrous to sparsely puberulous or pubescent above, puberulous to pubescent especially on the nerves beneath, tertiary nerves slightly raised and finely reticulate above and beneath; bacterial nodules linear on the tertiary nerves, several to very few; domatia present or absent; petiole 0.7–5.5 cm. long, puberulous to pubescent; stipule-limbs truncate, 2–3 mm. long, keeled, keels extending as the lobes, 3–5 mm. long, caducous, leaving a corky rim to the limb, puberulous outside, with silky hairs in axils inside.. Corymbs terminal on main and lateral leafy branches, moderately compact, 1.5–7 cm. across; primary inflorescence-branches 0.7–1.4 cm. long, puberulous; 2nd–4th order branches present; pedicels 0.5–3 mm. long, finely pubescent; bracts stipule-like.. Calyx pubescent; tube ± 0.5 mm. long; limb-tube 0.75–1 mm. long, much wider than the tube; lobes shortly triangular to ovate-triangular, 0.5–0.75 mm. long, 1 mm. wide at base, slightly keeled, never overlapping.. Corolla-tube 3.5–5 mm. long, ± 1.75 mm. wide at top, glabrous outside, densely bearded at throat; lobes 4–5(–8) mm. long, 1.5–1 mm. wide, acute.. Fruit 7 mm. in diameter, shiny, sometimes striated when dry, glabrous; calyx-limb ± persistent.. Seeds blackish with a brown area around the excavation, 5 mm. wide, scarcely rugulose on convex face.
