Characteristics

Shrub, up to 2 m high; decumbent, young twigs glabrous. Leaves with petioles 5-10 mm long; lamina oblanceolate, subcoriaceous, shiny above, glabrous; lateral veins 7-9 pairs. Domatia covered by a tuft of hairs. Bacterial nodules circular, scattered over lamina. Inflorescences terminal and axillary on inflorescence-supporting branches; relatively few-flowered, lax corymbs. Flowers: corolla tube 11 mm long; lobes 7 mm long. Calyx glabrous, tube cup-shaped; lobes with rounded apices, up to 1.5 mm long. Flowering time Sept.-Feb. Fruit 4-6 mm in diam., crowned by remains of persistent calyx.

Leaves opposite, oblanceolate, 50-90 x 11-20 mm, taper to the base & pointed apex, slightly leathery, smooth, shiny, dark green, margin wavy, hairy domatia in some vein axils below, scattered nodules in the blade.
