Characteristics

Scrambling undershrub; young branches densely pubescent; older branches covered with brown thin flaking bark.. Leaf-blades drying greenish brown, elliptic to oblong, 2–5.5 cm. long, 1–2.7 cm. wide, apex acute and mucronulate, base obtuse, covered with stiff shiny hairs above, greyish tomentose beneath; bacterial nodules ± dot-shaped, along the midrib and lateral nerves; petioles 0.3–1 cm. long, tomentose; stipules ovate-triangular to triangular, gradually tapering to aristate, apex 4–7 mm. long, pubescent outside, with silky hairs inside.. Corymbs terminal on very slender ± 0.75 mm. wide lateral branches 3.2–4.5 cm. long bearing 1–2 pairs of leaves near the apex, few-flowered, compact, ± 0.5–1 cm. across, sometimes with smaller secondary corymbs arising from the next node down; primary inflorescence-branches up to 2 mm. long, tomentose; secondary branches not present; pedicels 0.5–3 mm. long, tomentose; bracts stipule-like; bracteoles inconspicuous.. Calyx-tube 1 mm. long, densely whitish tomentose; limb-tube 1 mm. long, not or scarcely wider than the tube, pubescent; lobes linear to subulate, 6–6.5 mm. long, 0.9–1 mm. wide at base, pubescent.. Corolla-tube 1.4–1.5 mm. long, 1.25 mm. wide at top, sparsely pubescent outside not bearded at throat; lobes oblong, 5 mm. long, 1.75 mm. wide, with apiculum drying blackish, glabrous outside save for few hairs on the apiculum..
