Characteristics

Small tree or shrub (or ? liana) 1–5 m. tall; young branches pubescent; older branches with fawn corky bark, gnarled.. Leaf-blades drying greenish-brown, thinly chartaceous to chartaceous, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate or elliptic to oblong-elliptic, 6–18.5 cm. long, 2.5–7 cm. wide, apex acute or acuminate, base acute to cuneate, sparsely strigose with denser hairs on the midrib above, pubescent-strigose with denser spreading hairs on the nerves beneath; bacterial nodules elliptic near main and lateral nerves, often obscured by indumentum; petiole 0.4–1.7 cm. long, densely pubescent; stipule-limbs, triangular, 6–10 mm. long, acute to acuminate but not aristate, pubescent or densely strigose outside, becoming corky, eventually falling.. Corymbs terminal on lateral branches 1–19 cm. long bearing l(–2) pairs of leaves or with leaves fallen, ± compact to moderately lax, 4–7 cm. across; primary inflorescence-branches 0.4–1.2 cm. long, strigose; secondary and tertiary branches present; pedicels 3–6 mm. long, covered with spreading hairs; bracts ± stipule-like, densely or sometimes sparsely strigose outside; bracteoles inconspicuous or not..
