Leaf-blades drying olive-green to blackish, narrowly elliptic to elliptic, 7–18.5 cm. long, 1.5–7 cm. wide, gradually narrowing to a very fine point at apex, cuneate, sometimes tending to be unequal at base, shiny above; bacterial nodules linear along the midrib or sometimes lateral nerves or occasionally elliptic and positioned between the nerves; petiole 0.6–3.7 cm. long; stipule-limbs drying blackish, often with a corky margin, truncate to triangular, 1.5–2.5 mm. long, glabrous outside, with long silky hairs inside; arista 0.8–1.2 cm. long.. Corymbs terminal on main and lateral leafy branches 10–12 cm. long, lax, 4.5–7 cm. across; primary inflorescence-branches 0.6–2.3 cm. long; secondary and tertiary branches present; pedicels 4–7 mm. long; bracts drying blackish with fawn margin, ± 3 mm. long, apiculate; bracteoles ± conspicuous, brown when dry.. Calyx glabrous, tube 1 mm. long; limb-tube 1–1.5 mm. long, slightly to distinctly wider than tube; lobes subulate, scarcely widening at base, 1.5–2 mm. long, not exceeding 0.25 mm. wide.. Corolla-tube 1.5 cm. long, ± 2 mm. wide at top, glabrous outside and pubescent within; lobes narrowly-oblong, ± 1 cm. long, 2–2.5 mm. wide, acuminate.. Fruit black, 1 cm. in diameter, shiny, glabrous; calyx-limb not persistent.. Seeds dark grey almost black, 6 mm. wide, rugulose on convex face.
