Characteristics

Leaf blades 8–15 × 2–5 cm, lanceolate or narrowly elliptic, apex obtuse to acute or subacuminate, base acute to cuneate, subcoriaceous, moderately shiny above, with midrib usually drying cream in colour, prominent beneath, sparsely puberulous or glabrescent with midrib pubescent above, glabrescent, sparsely puberulous to puberulous, densely hairy on nerves beneath; lateral nerves in 8–11 main pairs; tertiary nerves obscure on both surfaces; domatia absent; bacterial nodules absent or linear, restricted to the midrib and lateral nerves; petiole 0.8–3 cm long, densely pubescent, stipule limbs 1.5–3 mm long, truncate, puberulous; arista 1–3 mm long.

Corymbs terminal on main and lateral leafy branches, moderately compact, up to 8.5 cm across (excluding corollas); primary inflorescence branches c. 2.5 cm long, densely pubescent; secondary and tertiary branches present; pedicels up to 3 mm long, densely pubescent; bracts c. 3 mm long, stipule-like; bracteoles inconspicuous.
