Characteristics

Bush 1.2–2.1 m. tall; young branches glabrous; older branches covered with dark brown thin bark.. Leaves glabrous; blades elliptic to obovate, 3.6–8 cm. long, 1.5–4.3 cm. wide, apex shortly acuminate or acute, base cuneate, subcoriaceous, slighdy shiny above; bacterial nodules dot-like, scattered; petiole 2–7 mm. long; stipule-limbs brown when dry, lanceolate, 12–13 mm. long, shortly apiculate, papery, glabrous outside.. Corymbs terminal on short lateral branches 6.5–10 cm. long bearing usually 1–2 pairs of leaves, very compact, 1.5–2 cm. across; inflorescence-branches absent or obscured by the bracts; pedicels 1–2 mm. long, glabrous; bracts pale brown, ± ovate, 0.7–1 cm. long, sheathing the inflorescence base, membranous to papery, glabrous outside, with few silky hairs inside.. Calyx-tube ± 1 mm. long, glabrous; limb-tube ± 1 mm. long; Jobes linear-lanceolate, 4 mm. long, 1 mm. wide, ciliate.. Corolla-tube 8 mm. long, 1.5–2 mm. wide at top, glabrous outside, not bearded at throat; lobes ± oblong, 5 mm. long, 1.5–1.75 mm. wide, acuminate.. Fruit not known.
