Characteristics

Small tree or large shrub, 2-3 m high. Leaves sessile; blade narrowly obovate or narrowly linear-ovate, up to 45 x 9 mm, apex acute to obtuse, glabrous to pubescent; sessile, dotshaped bacterial nodules, scattered. Flowers: in clusters on short, lateral branches; calyx lobes triangular, 1/2 to equalling the tube; corolla with tube up to 10 mm long, lobes contorted, white; Aug.-Feb. Fruit globose, black when ripe, crowned by calyx lobes.
