Characteristics

Stems slender, ascending or decumbent, 2.5-4.5 dm long, numerous from a taproot, appressed pubescent. Leaves: stipules linear or linear-lanceolate, 2-6 mm long; petioles 3-10 mm long; leaflets mostly linear to narrowly elliptic-oblong, 10-22 x 1-4 mm, the lower ones sometimes shorter and relatively broad, thinly pilose. Flowers mostly erect or resupinate, pale yellow, becoming red-veined on standard, solitary on wiry leaf-opposed peduncles 0.8-1.8 cm long; bracts elliptic-obovate or elliptic-oblong, 3-3.5 x 2-2.5 mm, deciduous; pedicels 1-2 mm long; bracteoles similar to bract, but often a little larger and more persistent. Calyx 9-11 mm long, appressed pubescent; upper and lateral sinuses nearly at the same level and 3-4 mm above lower sinuses; upper and lateral lobes broadly triangular, upper ones curved at tip and only 2-3 mm long. Standard elliptic, 1.2-1.5 cm long, medially pubescent outside. Ovary 24-28-ovulate. Pod linear-oblong, 2.1-2.8 x 0.30.35 cm, appressed pubescent.
