Characteristics

Flowers yellow, (1)2–6(8), clustered at branch-ends, sometimes on very reduced lateral branches and appearing axillary; bracts 3–4 mm long, elliptic; pedicels 0.5–1 mm long; bracteoles 3–5 mm long, linear.

Calyx 1.1–1.4 cm long; lobes 1.2–2 times as long as the tube, attenuate-triangular, ± acuminate, with the lateral and upper sinuses progressively a little higher than the lower sinus.
Leaflets 1.5–3 × 0.7–1.5 cm, elliptic-obovate to obovate or oblanceolate, obtuse or rounded to a small apiculum; petioles mostly 0.4–1.2(1.4) cm long; stipules lacking.
Bushy perennial herb 0.35–1 m tall, with a strong taproot or woody rootstock, silvery tomentose throughout (except corolla).
Pod 1.6–1.8 × 0.35–0.45 cm, narrowly oblong-pointed, densely sericeous-pubescent.
Standard 1.4–1.8 cm long, elliptic, pubescent outside.
Ovary 16–20-ovulate.
Stamens all joined.
