Characteristics

Succulent and branched shrub, 0.3-1.2 m high; stems thick and fleshy, knobby appearance due to swollen nodes. Leaves variable, lamina pinnately divided (bipinnatipartite) 30-170 x 20-50 mm, variably fleshy, channelled along midrib; sparsely to densely puberulous; petioles 10-100 mm long. Inflorescences of 2-8-flowered, branched, pseudo-umbels; peduncles 3-5 mm long. Stipules small, triangular, membranous. Petals 5, spathulate, white to greenish yellow; posterior 2 slightly larger with reddish markings. Fertile stamens 5. Flowering time Jan.-Mar.
