Scandent, aromatic subshrub. Stems herbaceous, covered with persistent remains of petioles, relatively thin. Leaves subsucculent, microscopically sparsely sericeous; lamina cordiform, trilobate to ternate; petiole often longer than lamina, persistent for some time; stipules membranous. Pseudo-umbels 3-5-flowered. Pedicel very short (2-5 mm) and much shorter than hypanthium (10-20 mm). Petals 5, white to cream; posterior two with wine-red feather-like markings and much larger than anterior three. Fertile stamens 5.
