Characteristics

Profusely branched, evergreen subshrub, 0.5-1.0 m high. Leaves: lamina up to 20 x 30 mm, obovate in outline, trifoliolate, lateral leaflets 3-cleft, terminal leaflet twice 3-cleft; slightly fleshy or leathery, glabrous, green, base cuneate; petioles 10-15 mm long. Stipules triangular, membranous. Inflorescences single-flowered; peduncle borne in axils of petioled leaves; articulated, 5-30 mm long. Petals 5, white to light pink; posterior 2 spathulate with wide claws and reddish purplish markings near base; anterior 3 narrowly ovate. Fertile stamens 5, pollen orange. Flowering time all year, mostly in spring.
