Characteristics

Annuum, 20-30 cm altum, multicaule. Caules ascendentes, e basi ramosi; rami ascendentes, subteretes vel vix perspicue sulcati, sicut petioli pedunculique indumento patulo pubescente brevi satis denso saepe canescente obtecti; internodia media et superiora saepe elongata, usque 11 cm longa, 2 1/2 mm crassa. Folia numerosa; lamina utrinque pilis canescentibus dense pubescens, saepe 3-4 cm longa, 3 cm lata, ambitu triangulari-cordata, ± trifoliolata foliolis profunde pinnatifido-incisis, lobulis inciso-dentatis, dentibus rotundatis mucronulatis; lamina foliorum superiorum ab ea inferiorum non diversa; petioli inferiores quam lamina 2 1/2-plo longiores, usque 9 cm longi, fere laxi, sursum gradatim breviores. Stipulae triquetrae, saepe 4 mm longae, 3 mm latae, acuminatae, acutissimae, pilis canescentibus lanato-pubescentes. Pedunculi inferiores usque 10 cm longi, sursum breviores, tenues, 1 mm crassi, circ. 5-flori. Bracteae lanceolatae vel ovatae, acutae vel acutissimae, dense pubescentes, 3 mm longae, fere 2 mm latae. Flores pedicellati; pedicelli capillares, inaequilongi, 3 1/2-6 mm longi, sicut calyx totus pilis patulis strigosis dense pubescentes vel subhirsuti. Calycis calcar 7 mm longum, sub sepalis sensim ampliatum, basi manifeste gibbosum; sepala ovata, acutiuscula, 5 mm longa, 2 mm lata, membranaceo-marginata, dense hirsuto-pubescentia. Petala rosea, ad medium carmineo-notata, ± obovata, sepalis 1 1/2-1 3/4-plo longiora, saepe 7 mm longa. Rostrum dense pilis minutis patulis pubescenti-hirsutiusculum.
