Characteristics

Suffruticosum, 20 cm altum. Caulis basi 12-15 mm crassus, long. 15 mm simplex, deinde ramosus ramis sublignosis, densissime foliatis, brunneis vel brunneo-griseis, 2-3 mm crassis, leviter tortuosis, valde ramulosis. Folia valde numerosa; lamina 8-15 mm diametiens, pilis densis brevissimis puberula vel juvenilis saepe pilis densis longis incanis subhirsuta, ambitu fere rotundata, in lacinulas lineares scissa; lacinulae exs. 2-31/2 mm longae et 1/2-3/4 mm latae, apice obtusiusculae; petiolus 3-10 mm longus, gracilis, minutissime puberulus, quam lamina vix longior, saepe persistens. Stipulae late subulatae vel deltoideae, adnatae, minutissimae. Pedunculi 1/2-2 cm longi, fere filiformes, 2/3-1/2 mm crassi, saepe persistentes, 3-4-flori. Bracteae minutae, lanceolatae, 2 mm longae, sparsim puberulae, acutiusculae. Flores subsessiles. Calycis calcar 10-13 mm longum, sparsim puberulum, sub sepalis sensim ampliatum, basi 1/2 mm crassum; sepala quam calcar 3-plo breviora, ovata, apicem versus vix angustata, acuta, sparsim puberula et pilis paucis canescentibus obsita. Petala duo superiora 10-12 mm longa, e basibus longe unguiculatis obovata, integra; tria inferiora paullo breviora et angustiora; omnia carminea vel rubra.
