Scandent, non-aromatic shrub; many-stemmed, stems succulent; internodes relatively long. Leaves subsucculent; lamina cordiform or reniform, 5-palmatifid; glabrous to villous, with glandular hairs interspersed; petiole much longer than lamina, sometimes partially persistent. Stipules sometimes persistent. Inflorescences of 1-or 2-flowered pseudo-umbels; pedicels very short, up to 4 mm long. Hypanthium 25-60 mm long. Petals 4(5), cream-coloured, pink with deep red markings; posterior 2 relatively large 40-50 mm long, twice as long as anterior ones. Stamens fertile, 7. Flowering time Sept.-Dec.
