Characteristics

Dwarf shrub, up to 500 mm high. Leaves alternate, sessile; blade pinnatipartite, very short, scarcely as long as internodes or exceeding them, lobes short, linear. Heads discoid, ± 6-8 mm in diameter, solitary, on pedunculoid branches. Involucral bracts linear, acuminate. Receptacle epaleate. Flowers: disc florets only; corolla 5-lobed, yellow; Oct.-Jun. Fruit with cypsela wedgeshaped, 5-ribbed, with glands between ribs. Pappus an auriculately shaped scale, dentate.
