Characteristics

Shrub, up to 1 m high; young branches densely white-hairy. Leaves alternate, sessile; blade pinnate, pinnatipartite or bipinnatipartite, longer than internodes, lobes linear, shortly pubescent. Heads discoid, solitary, terminal; peduncle up to 70 mm long. Involucral bracts 4-seriate, linear to narrowly ovate, margins broadly membranous, inner bracts conspicuously membranous. Receptacle epaleate. Flowers: disc florets only; corolla 5-lobed, yellow; Oct.-May. Fruit with cypsela oblong, 5-ribbed, glandular between ribs. Pappus an auriculately shaped scale.
