Characteristics

Shrub, up to 1.5 m high; much branched. Leaves alternate, petiolate; blade pinnatisect or bipinnatisect, segments entire or 3-5-lobed, lobes linear, glabrous, glandular-punctate. Heads discoid, many together in terminal corymbs, pedunculate. Involucral bracts oblong, obtuse. Receptacle epaleate. Flowers: disc florets only; corolla 5-lobed, yellow; May. Fruit with cypsela oblong, 5-ribbed, glandular between ribs. Pappus an auriculately shaped scale, irregularly torn or cut.
