Characteristics

Dwarf shrub, up to 300 mm high; much branched, branches short, tortuous, cushion-formed. Leaves alternate, almost rosulate at branch tips, sessile; blade very narrowly obovate, apex truncate, shortly and bluntly 3-5-lobed, base cuneate and with sclerified scale-like leaf sheaths, glabrous. Heads discoid, solitary; peduncle slender, up to 50 mm long. Involucral bracts broad, obtuse, with median resin duct. Receptacle epaleate. Flowers: disc florets only; corolla 5-lobed, yellow; Dec.-Feb., Jun.?, Jul., Sep. Fruit with cypsela oblong, 5-ribbed, glandular between ribs. Pappus absent.

Flowerheads discoid, globose, yellow, 4-7 mm diam., solitary on slender peduncles 15-40 mm long; involucral bracts ovate, obtuse, broadly membranous. Pappus absent.
