Leaves 4 to 6, scattered, upper leaf largest, 50–125 × 40–80 mm, margins wavy. Flower stem 300–500 mm tall, 15–50-flowered, hairy. Flowers cupped, 4.5–5 × 5.5–6 mm, cream to yellow. Dorsal sepal projecting forwards, 5–7 × 3–4 mm, partially hooded, pointed. Lateral sepals divergent, 5–7 × 3–4 mm, spreading. Petals projecting forwards close to labellum, 4–5 × 2 mm. Labellum 5–8 × 4–7 mm, 3-lobed from near middle; lateral lobes at c. 30° to midlobe, 1–2 × 0.5 mm, curved; midlobe nearly triangular, c. 2 mm long. Spur globose, c. 1 mm long.

Environment

Highly localised; found growing in moist areas of open forest, on rainforest margins and in permanently wet soil beside streams. Perhaps surprisingly, it is recorded that the type specimens were collected from the hilltops of Dunk Island, an unusual habitat for this species.
