Origin: in Whittier, Calif., by C.H. Hamburg. Introd. in 1922. Chance seedling discovered in 1917; Guatemalan type. Tree: Fruit: 12 to 14 oz; round; skin purple, rough; seed large; oil content 14.7%; season April to May. Now obsolete.
