Origin: in Coconut Grove, Fla., by H.A. Trapp. Introd. in 1901. West Indian type. Tree: comparatively weak grower and sometimes carries few fruit to maturity, but usually a consistent bearer of good crops. Flowering type B; minor commercial cultivar in Florida. Fruit: roundish-ovate or slightly pyriform, medium to large size, 12-24 oz; skin smooth, light to yellowish green; seed size large, loose in cavity; flesh golden yellow to pale green near the skin, of excellent flavor; oil content 3% to 6%; late midseason, ripening September to November.
