Perennial herb. Leaves sessile or subsessile; blade narrowly ovate to elliptic, base cuneate, apex acuminate; upper surface glabrous, lower surface with appressed hairs on midrib and margins. Ocrea without a spreading herbaceous limb; fringed with short bristles. Flowers: in a lax, dichotomously branched panicle; perianth pale pink; Jan.-Apr. Fruit a trigonous nut, smooth.
