Characteristics

Erect shrubs to trees 2-8 m tall. Bark corky. Hairs greyish, appressed to antrorsely spreading. Young branchlets moderately hairy. Leaves obovate to spathulate to narrowly so, 5-11 cm long, 9-50 mm wide, flat, sometimes with slightly recurved margins, straight or sometimes slightly falcate, twisted at base through 90°, concolorous, glabrous. Pedicels 2.5-7 mm long. Tepals 8-12.5 mm long, obtuse to acute to apiculate, glabrous to sparsely hairy on outside. Anther appendage absent.
