Shrub ±75 cm high, aromatic. Branches woody, with often some white setae, glandular; older branches greyish white; leaves and flowers on abbreviated side branches. Leaves ovate to lanceolate, cuneate at the base, variable in size (up to 2.5 x 1.5 cm), glandular pubescent. Petiole ±8 mm long. Flower axillary, solitary. Bracts ovate, ±15 mm long, 8 mm broad below, glandular pubescent, sometimes with some scattered shiny white setae; inside minutely pubescent. Calyx segments linear-lanceolate, glandular pubescent, anticous connate two-thirds of the way or nearly to the tip, posticous slightly larger than anticous, ±1 cm long; inner sepals somewhat smaller than outer. Corolla-tube tubular at the base, funnel-shaped above, pubescent on the outside, glabrous inside, ±18 mm long; lobes rounded, ±1 cm long, tube and throat dark yellowish brown, lobes lighter coloured. Stamens pubescent at the insertion in the throat. Anthers shortly caudate at the base. Ovary glabrous, style pubescent below, stigmas nearly equal. Capsule flattened, shiny yellowish brown, ±8 mm long, margins thickened, style-base persistent.
