Petiole stout, 1.5–3(–4) cm. long; lamina dark olive-green to grey-green, coriaceous, ovate to elliptic-oblong, 5–20(–23) cm. long, 3.5–11 cm. wide, rounded or slightly acuminate to a blunt tip, broadly cuneate to rounded or slightly cordate at the base, tawny tomentose when very young, becoming scurfy to varying degrees with minute grey stellate hairs, more persistently so beneath, with 6–10 pairs of inconspicuous lateral nerves.. Umbels (1–)several confluent at old nodes, sessile, 4–8-flowered; pedicels 0–2 mm. long; bract ovate-elliptic, subacuminate at the apex, 4–6 mm. long, tomentellous.. Receptacle broad, 2.5–3 mm. long, yellow-brown tomentellous, with longer dendritic hairs at the base or overall.. Calyx 1–1.2 mm. long, slightly glabrescent, long-ciliate.. Corolla 4–5.8 cm. long, orange-yellow with brownish tomentum, orange to red on filament-lines inside, tomentose with grey stellate, tawny dendritic and subsimple hairs up to 2 mm. long, longer hairs most evident at the base and most evanescent at the apex; apical swelling of bud ellipsoid, ± apiculate, 5–6 mm. long, 3–3.5 mm. in diameter; basal swelling 5–6 mm. long, 4–4.5 mm. in diameter; lobes erect, 1.2–1.6 cm. long; tips narrowly elliptic, apiculate, 4.5–5 mm. long, 1.5–1.8 mm. wide, hardened inside.. Filaments red below, green above; anthers 3–3.5 mm. long, with 5–6 cells in each row.. Style slightly broadened upwards; neck 3–3.5 mm. long..
