Characteristics

Annual herb, erect, to 25 cm high; lower nodes shortly pilose or glabrescent. Leaves widely spaced, narrowly lanceolate, 6–9 mm long, 1.5–3.5 mm wide; adaxial surface shortly pilose or glabrescent. Inflorescence of axillary and terminal few-flowered umbellate clusters; peduncles to 70 mm long. Involucre 6-nerved; tube 2.2–4.5 mm long; lobes 1–2.5 mm long; adaxial surface often sparsely pilose. Corolla tube c. 2 mm long; lobes 0.8–0.9 mm long. Stamens 1–1.2 mm long; anthers minutely apiculate. Styles connate. Capsule 2–3 mm long. Seeds pale brown, reticulate.
