Annual herb, erect, to 17 cm high, glabrous. Leaves widely spaced, lanceolate or elliptic, 3–13 mm long, 1–4 mm wide. Inflorescences of axillary and terminal few-flowered umbellate clusters; peduncles to 65 mm long. Involucre 6-nerved, rarely with 4 additional secondary nerves; tube 3–5 mm long; lobes 1–2.9 mm long. Corolla tube 2–2.2 mm long; lobes 0.7–1.2 mm long. Stamens c. 1 mm long; anthers obtuse. Styles connate. Capsule c. 2.5 mm long. Seeds black, sulcate.
