Characteristics

Annual, occasionally perennial herb, up to 0.5 m high. Stems with lead shoots smooth, lateral shoots finely scabrid to papillose-puberulous. Leaves with blade elliptic to narrowly ovate-elliptic, 3-15 x 1-4 mm, apex acute, obtuse or rounded, margins entire, flat. Flowers: perianth creamy red; Nov.-May. Fruit shortly stalked.
