Characteristics

Shrub usually 0.5–1 m high. Leaves shortly petiolate, ovate to narrowly obovate or almost linear, acute, discolorous; lamina usually 5–22 mm long, 1.5–7 mm wide; margins often recurved or revolute. Inflorescence erect; involucral bracts 4 or 6, ovate or broadly ovate, 8–13 mm long, 5–10 mm wide, glabrous inside, ciliate. Flowers bisexual, glabrous inside. Hypanthium not circumscissile; ovary-portion with minute hairs; style-portion with a mixture of long spreading hairs and minute hairs in lower part and medium-sized antrorse hairs above. Stamens slightly to greatly exceeding sepals; filament 3.3–5.5 mm long; anther locules semi-latrorse to latrorse.
