Characteristics

Shrub usually 1–2.5 m high. Stems densely hairy. Leaves opposite, shortly petiolate, ±elliptic or narrowly elliptic, glabrous and medium green on adaxial surface, densely white-hairy abaxially; lamina 5–24 mm long, 2–8 mm wide. Inflorescence terminal, compact, few-flowered, without any well defined bracts but subtended by leaves. Flowers apparently bisexual, densely covered by long hairs outside, glabrous inside, white; pedicel densely hairy. Hypanthium 4–4.5 mm long, splitting irregularly at base in fruit, all but base deciduous; style-portion 2–2.5 mm long. Sepals c. 1.5 mm long. Ovary distally hairy. Mature fruit dry, naked.
