Characteristics

Prostrate or semi-prostrate undershrub. Stems glabrous. Leaves opposite, shortly petiolate, narrowly elliptic or elliptic, glabrous, medium to dark green on adaxial surface, paler abaxially; lamina usually 3–11 mm long, 1–6 mm wide. Inflorescence terminal, compact or becoming slightly elongate, many-flowered; involucral bracts absent. Flowers bisexual, very sparsely hairy or glabrous outside, glabrous inside; pedicel sparsely hairy or glabrous. Hypanthium 3.5–5 mm long, persistent, deep pink; style-portion poorly defined, 2–3 mm long. Sepals 1.5–2.5 mm long, persistent, pink or white. Ovary distally hairy. Fruit dry, enclosed.
