Shrub 0.2–1 m high. Stems glabrous. Leaves alternate, shortly petiolate, linear, glabrous, concolorous, pale green or bluish green; lamina 4–17 mm long, 0.5–1 mm wide. Inflorescence erect, compact, many-flowered; involucral bracts c. 40, narrowly triangular to linear, 6–8 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, glabrous or sparsely hairy outside, densely hairy inside, ciliate, leaf-like in colour. Flowers bisexual, densely hairy outside, with long hairs on ovary-portion of tube and shorter hairs above, cream or white. Hypanthium 5–7.5 mm long, circumscissile; style-portion 3.5–5 mm long, hairy inside. Sepals 2–5 mm long, glabrous inside. Stamens usually longer than sepals; anther locules introrse. Ovary distally hairy.
