Characteristics

Shrub 0.1–1 m high. Leaves shortly petiolate, ±narrowly elliptic, concolorous, medium green to dark bluish green; lamina 1–16 mm long, 0.6–5 mm wide. Inflorescence erect, compact, many-flowered; involucral bracts 10–22, usually 5–12 mm long and 1–5 mm wide, usually partly to fully hairy inside, leaf-like in colour or partially (not at base) red to purple. Flowers hairy inside style-portion of tube. Hypanthium circumscissile or sometimes fully persistent; ovary-portion densely hairy; style-portion with slightly shorter to slightly longer hairs. Sepals 1.5–3.3 mm long, hairy outside, glabrous inside. Anther locules ±semi-latrorse.
