Characteristics

Undershrub 10–40 cm high. Young stems densely white-hairy. Leaves alternate or opposite, shortly petiolate, narrowly elliptic or elliptic, densely hairy when young, concolorous, pale grey-green; lamina 1–11 mm long, 0.8–4.5 mm wide. Inflorescence of 1 or more clusters or heads, each terminating a branchlet or axillary; clusters or heads compact, usually 3–8-flowered, rarely with more flowers. Flowers bisexual, densely hairy outside, glabrous inside. Hypanthium 2.5–3 mm long, circumscissile or persistent; style-portion poorly defined, c. 0.8 mm long. Sepals erect, c. 0.5 mm long, reddish or yellow to brown. Stamens inserted below sepals, subsessile in throat; anther locules semi-latrorse. Style included.
