Characteristics

Shrub 30–60 cm high. Stems glabrous. Leaves opposite, shortly petiolate, narrowly obovate or rarely obovate, concolorous, green; lamina 2.5–11.5 mm long, 0.8–2.5 mm wide. Inflorescence terminal on short axillary branchlet, compact, 5–21-flowered; involucral bracts 2 or 4, sessile, ovate to obovate or rarely narrowly so, 3.3–6 mm long, 1.7–3 mm wide, glabrous outside, sometimes with a few hairs inside, green. Flowers densely hairy outside, cream; hypanthium glabrous inside; sepals hairy inside; pedicel densely hairy. Male flowers: hypanthium 2–3.2 mm long; sepals 1–1.5 mm long. Female flowers: hypanthium c. 1.5 mm long; sepals c. 0.8 mm long; ovary distally hairy. Fruit not seen.
