Shrub 0.2–2 m high. Stems glabrous. Leaves opposite, shortly petiolate, linear or narrowly ovate to narrowly obovate, glabrous, concolorous, medium green; lamina 4–26 mm long, 0.7–3.5 mm wide. Inflorescence or inflorescence unit terminal, many-flowered; involucral bracts 2 or rarely 4, usually narrowly ovate or ovate, sessile, 2–13 mm long, 1.2–3 mm wide, glabrous, green. Flowers glabrous, yellow or greenish yellow; pedicel densely hairy. Male flowers: hypanthium 3–5.5 mm long; sepals 1.3–1.7 mm long. Female flowers: hypanthium 2–3 mm long, persistent, style-portion c. 0.3 mm long; sepals 0.8–1 mm long, persistent; ovary glabrous. Fruit dry, enclosed.
