Characteristics

Shrub 0.2–1 m high. Young stems hairy. Leaves opposite, shortly petiolate, linear to elliptic, glabrous to densely hairy, concolorous, usually medium green or bluish green; lamina usually 6–21 mm long and 0.8–4 mm wide. Inflorescence erect, compact, many-flowered; involucral bracts usually in 6–10 pairs, usually narrowly ovate, 5–18 mm long, 1–3.5 mm wide, sparsely to densely hairy, yellowish at base, green above. Flowers bisexual, glabrous at extreme base, densely hairy above on outside, with a mixture of short and long hairs or all short hairs, white. Hypanthium 3.5–7 mm long, circumscissile; style-portion 2.2–4.5 mm long, hairy inside. Sepals 1.5–3.5 mm long, glabrous inside. Stamens longer than sepals; anther locules semi-latrorse. Ovary hairy distally and sometimes below.
