Sepals 6, caducous, petal-form. Petals 6. Stamens opposite petals; filaments flat. Pistils 1; stigma disciform; ovules numerous, placentation marginal. Capsules leathery, obliquely dehiscing longitudinally. Seeds numerous, black. 2n = 12.
