Characteristics

Plants forming straggly upright clumps. Stem 200–450 mm tall, branching from near base, with numerous coarse, wiry white roots. Leaves numerous, 30–45 × 12–18 mm, bright green, somewhat fleshy, apex thickened and deflexed. Racemes 30–40 mm long, thick, stiffly spreading, 2–5-flowered. Flowers cupped, 8–10 × 6–8 mm, reddish brown to yellowish orange with some purple markings, exterior brownish yellow. Sepals and petals incurved, fleshy. Dorsal sepal 3–4 × 1 mm. Lateral sepals 3–4 × 1 mm. Petals 3–4 × 1 mm. Labellum c. 6 × 4 mm, white, fleshy, hairy; lateral lobes c. 3 × 1.5 mm, hairy; midlobe short, blunt; spur c. 2 mm long, straight.
