Characteristics

Perennial, semi-succulent herb, 0.2-0.4 m high; stems erect to decumbent. Leaves petiolate, membranous, broadly ovate, 25-40 x 22-40 mm, base truncate to cuneate, apex rounded to acute, margins shallowly crenate with 3 or 4 pairs of rounded teeth; sparingly strigose, upper surface rubro-punctate. Inflorescences terminal to main stem and on side branches, rachises 70-130 mm long; verticillasters 6-12-flowered. Flowers white to light mauve. Calyx 3 mm long, elongating to 5 mm after flowering. Corolla small, 5-14 mm long; tube widening at throat. Flowering time Mar.-May. Fruit of 1 mm long nutlets, light to dark brown.
