Perennial herb, 0.3-0.4 m high; semi-succulent, stems ascending, shortly pilose, longer hairs at nodes. Leaves petiolate, drying membranous, broadly to obovate-elliptical, 55-90 x 40-60 mm, base cuneate, apex acute to obtuse, margins shallowly crenate-dentate above middle, ciliate; sparingly strigose, lower surface gland-dotted. Inflorescence: rachis 80-150 mm long, simple or with pair of branches near base; verticillasters 4-6-flowered. Flowers pale bluish. Calyx 7-8 mm long when fruiting; glandular-hispidulous near base. Corolla: tube deflexed, expanding and saccate at base, parallelsided, laterally compressed and slightly narrowing towards throat; lower lip concave. Flowering time Feb.-June.
