Characteristics

Willowy to dense and much-branched, resprouting shrub, up to 1 m high; branches virgate, tomentose, young growth tawny. Leaves 1-foliolate, ovate; upper surface thinly silky and shiny glabrescent; lower surface velutinous. Inflorescences 1-or 2-flowered; bracts widely ovate, prominently veined, mucronate. Flowers dark pink, magenta and white. Calyx velutinous with rusty hairs; lobes strap-shaped to triangular, shorter than keel. Flowering time Aug.-June.
