Erect, woody, resprouting shrub, up to 1.7 m high; tawny-velutinous in all parts. Leaves orbicular or widely ovate, rounded or cordate at base, both surfaces tawny-velutinous. Inflorescences axillary, 1-flowered; peduncles shorter than leaves. Flowers purple; bracts lanceolate to widely ovate. Calyx: lobes widely cultrate; nearly as long as keel; tawny-velutinous. Flowering time Nov.-Feb.
