Characteristics

Erect, woody, reseeding shrub, up to 2 m high, sometimes resprouting after fire, branches tomentose. Leaves obovate, more sericeous on lower than upper surface; veins prominent on lower surface of older leaves. Inflorescences terminal, 1-or 2-flowered; peduncles shorter or scarcely longer than leaves; bracts lanceolate. Flowers pink and white. Calyx with lobes pointed, acute, longer than tube, shorter than keel, dark brown, velutinous. Flowering time June.-Nov.
