Characteristics

Shrub 0.7–1.25 m high, with somewhat spinescent stiff patent branchlets, with grey simple and stellate hairs. Leaves: lamina narrowly or very narrowly obovate, 7–13 mm long, 1.8–2.5 mm wide, base cuneate, entire, apex obtuse to emarginate, apiculate with the tip recurved; silvery to pale green villous below, densely minutely stellate-velvety above; petiole 0.5–1.2 mm long; stipules ± linear, 0.5–0.9 mm long, persistent. Inflorescence of cymose panicles with 3–15 flowers; bracts persistent. Pedicels 2.5–6 mm long. Flowers white or creamy white; hypanthium tube 0.4–0.7 mm long, c. 1.5 mm in diam. Sepals c. 1.3 mm long. Petals c. 1 mm long. Stamens c. 0.8 mm long. Ovary inferior; style 0.5–0.7 mm long. Fruit 4.3–4.8 mm long, torus near middle; one fruitlet often much reduced. Seeds 2.4–2.7 mm long, dark red-brown.
